Solstice CEO Helps Meet Dental Needs of Veterans at Community Clinic

February 02, 2018 - PLANTATION, Fla.,

Solstice Benefits, Inc., (Solstice) CEO Dr. Leonard Weiss, provided dental care to U.S. military veterans at the grand opening of SmileFaith Veterans Dental Clinic in New Port Richey, Fla., on Jan. 12, 2018. Over 150 veterans turned out at the grand opening of the clinic, believed to be the first of its kind in providing dental care to vets at no cost.

Dr. Weiss, a Florida dentist, founded dental and vision insurer Solstice in 1998. This year, the company celebrates 20 years of serving members in Florida and across the nation. They are actively involved in their community. Their partnership with the American Heart Association (AHA) Broward Heart Walk, spans eight years. Over the last seven, they have raised over $150,000, which has allowed them to make a big impact on their local community, while earning them the title of Top Small Company in Broward County for their fundraising success.

"The veterans have given us so much of their lives -- there's nothing we can do enough to support them, and the most gratifying thing for me is they're so appreciative for the time we can give them," said Dr. Weiss in an interview with Bay News 9, as he and other volunteer dentists treated veterans who attended the grand opening.

Veterans in the U.S. qualify for dental care through the US Department of Veterans Affair (VA) if they meet the appropriate criteria. The VA confirms that dental care is a high priority need, especially for homeless veterans, which further shows the need for organizations like SmileFaith.
