Solstice Superstars Shine At the Davie Police Department 5k

Solstice, a local benefits provider, took third place in the David Police Department 5k team competition, running along with other notable teams such as the Davie Police SRT-RRM (SWAT), Nova High School, Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders and Grettel’s Zumba. As a National American Heart Association Fit-Friendly company, this event supports Solstice’s commitment to promoting wellness and a healthy lifestyle to their employees and the community.

The Solstice ‘Superstars’ Team braved the early Sunday morning to participate in the 5k held at Nova Southeastern University. Not only did the Solstice Superstars shine in the team category, but a few of the team members won individual awards. Among them were Juan Cortina who took second place for his division, Oscar Fernandez who took third place for his division, and Sonja Pica who came in fourth for her division.

Moore gave a big “congratulations” to all the participants and a special shout out to team member, Sherry-Ann Barkley, who completed her first-ever 5k race. The Davie Police Department showed great appreciation of the presence of the Solstice team at their event. Solstice team members plan to continue participating in the Davie Police Department 5k race for future years.
