Solstice Hosts CE Credit Seminar on Health Reform for HR Professionals

Solstice hosted a Continuing Education Seminar on Health Care Reform Tuesday, Feb. 26, in support of human resource managers and insurance brokers across Broward and Dade counties. Guests were enthusiastic to listen to featured speakers Jim Moore, and taxation specialist, Sharon Quinn Dixon, present on the topic – concentrating on the various regulations from Federal agencies and State implications professionals in the industry will face over the next year.
With recent changes to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the conference was held to provide industry professionals with an in-depth look at how these changes impacted their business, their employees and provided a roadmap to understanding the ACA changes. The event, held in Plantation, covered key Health Care Reform topics including:
Rules to avoid Internal Revenue Service penalties
Minimum employer contributions
Public and private exchanges
Classification of full time employees
Not only did guests gather knowledge on the current legislative topic, but they also received two accredited hours for attending the seminar, approved by the HR Certification Institute. “With the many changes in insurance law and employee benefits through the Affordable Care Act, providing an opportunity for education on this important topic was relevant to our clients and the Human Resource community,” said Solstice chief operating officer Carlos Ferrera. “We are all navigating these changes together.
