Solstice Benefits, Inc. Makes Top 100 Best Companies List

July 31, 2012 - Plantation, FL

For the second consecutive year, Solstice Benefits, Inc. has been named one of Florida’s Best Companies to Work For. Impressively, Solstice moved up on this year’s Top 100 Best Companies List from No. 22 to No. 17. The company has remained consistent in maintaining a passionate, unified workforce, with sound ethics as a foundation.

Recently recognized as a South Florida Healthiest Employer by the South Florida Business Journal, Solstice offers its employees a wide range of benefits, including complete coverage of medical, dental and vision insurance. “This company has been largely founded on elements of hard work, wellness and progress. We strive to excel in these areas every day, and motivate our employees to do the same, by providing them with outstanding benefits, such as our healthcare plans,” stated Chief Operating Officer Carlos Ferrera. Company-wide activities and social gatherings are scheduled monthly in an effort to sustain a collaborative and enjoyable working environment. “We have a great staff and we want to make sure they are happy here [at Solstice],” said Ferrera.

The fourth annual statewide Best Companies list appears in the August issue of Florida Trend magazine and on One-hundred companies were recognized in small, medium and large company categories.

“One thing that distinguishes best companies everywhere is their ability to hire effectively. So for our coverage this year we focused on how Florida's Best Companies go about identifying and choosing their workers,” says Mark Howard, executive editor. “Hard skills are clearly important, but the companies we talked to generally put a lot of emphasis on other things as well — how well a worker will fit into the company's culture, for example. And in deciding whether to hire someone, they frequently involve as many of their current employees as possible.”

“The groups that carefully evaluate new staff are frequently the same ones that serve their clients exceptionally well,” says Florida Trend Publisher Andrew Corty. “It's our pleasure to recognize these great companies and encourage others to join them in building Florida's competitive advantage.”

The Best Companies To Work For In Florida program was created by Florida Trend and Best Companies Group and is endorsed by the HR Florida State Council.

To be considered for participation, companies or government entities had to employ at least 15 workers in Florida and have been in operation at least one year. Companies that chose to participate underwent an evaluation of their workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The process also included a survey to measure employee satisfaction. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the registration, survey and analysis and determined the final rankings.
