Infographic: Solstice Benefits’ Open Access Plans Create Member Satisfaction

August 13, 2013 - Plantation, FL

Solstice Benefits Inc. has released a new infographic based on a survey of over 2,300 employees and eight Fortune 500 companies. It shows that open access plans, such as Solstice’s dental and vision plans, make members’ health care experiences more pleasant.

According to the survey, over 50 percent of capitation plan participants weren’t satisfied with their plans. Capitation plans require members to see doctors assigned by their insurance companies. The survey also found that this type of plan can increase patients’ health risks. That’s because they avoid getting needed care.

However, employees enrolled in open access plans were:

• Four times more likely to be very satisfied with their dental plans
• Sixteen times more likely to be very satisfied with their dentists

Solstice’s unique plan model gives members the freedom to choose any provider in the Solstice network. There are no rosters or lengthy wait times. Members can find a provider and get the care they need quickly.

“’This works! It’s so easy!’ That’s what members always say,” said Brian Correia, director of sales at Solstice. “We’ve seen a huge growth in our member base by offering open access. And, it’s still growing. We’re not stopping anytime soon either.”
